Born and raised in Mexico City, I've always had a passion for working with raw materials, just like my ancestors did. I love the idea of taking raw materials that are perceived to have little value and shaping them into beautiful objects, made of my own thoughts. The process of working with clay is both simple and complex and gives me a deep connection to my history, clay has been used for centuries to create utilitarian objects, as well as tell the story of our ancestors. My inspiration comes from growing up around the black clay (Barro negro) from Oaxaca, the Talavera from Puebla, and the Brilliant trees of life from Metec. They awaken in me a desire to…
