Born and raised in India, Sangita’s first sculptures were shaped from the clay from roadside
streets of Kolhapur—small secret figures she was never allowed to carry indoors. Those
childhood moments planted a lifelong devotion to the earth’s most forgiving medium.
In America, she discovered studios overflowing with possibility. For over seventeen years, she has studied and sculpted under the mentorship of Laura Nichols at Pig Pen Pottery in Great Falls, Virginia, honing a practice rooted in patience, touch, and quiet revelation. Surrounded by fellow artists, she continues to grow, guided by the same wonder that began on Indian sidewalks.
